Sleep is an incredibly important piece of the overall health and fitness puzzle and just like we track our results in most workouts we do, tracking your sleep helps us see progress. It also helps us identify where we might be falling short or have room for improvement as we look for ways to increase our levels of fitness.
Also, in order to qualify for the coveted CFLKW Grizzly Shark Club, you must track your sleep EVERY DAY for a period of at least 90 days.
The tool we recommend for tracking your sleep is an app called MyFitnessPal. It’s a free app and is available for both iOS and Android so no matter the type of phone you have, you can use this app. It also has a corresponding website that syncs with the app on your phone once you’ve set up your account.
Now, while is it possible to track your sleep using MyFitnessPal, it’s not immediately set up to do so and so there are a few additional steps you need to go through to enable this capability. Here are the instructions for setting up sleep tracking:
Please go to the website www.myfitnesspal.com and sign into the member’s area using the exact same username and password as you do with the app.
Once you’ve logged in, click on “My Home”, then “Check in”, then “Track Additional Measurements”. You’ll be taken to a page where you can add whatever measurements you’d like to your account.
Once you’ve saved those changes, the next time you sync any version of the MyFitnessPal app (sync is automatic with a valid internet connection), the new measurements will be available for tracking within the app as well.
